PARKVILLE, Md. — Baltimore County Police have arrested and charged a 19-year-old man for allegedly attempting to kidnap three young siblings in Parkville.
Cameron Keelan is accused of approaching the children on December 3 as they sat on their dad's porch near Edgedale Road.
According to a witness, Keelan made comments about their parents not being home, so they had to come with him.
The daughter of the witness intervened, advising the children not to go.
At this point the witness claims Keelan became enraged, going on a profanity laced tirade before running away.
The daughter was able to take a photo of Keelan, later posting about the incident on Facebook.
The next day, on December 4, someone who saw the post spotted Keelan following children outside the Immaculate Heart of Mary School on Loch Raven Boulevard.
Police searched the area and found Keelan walking nearby.
When confronted about trespassing on school property, Keelan said he was just cutting through the parking lot to get home.
Upon being questioned about the Facebook post, Keelan denied the allegations, calling them a lie.
Charging documents quote Keelan telling officers he "would never do anything to any children due to being in a sexual assault rehabilitation clinic."
After initially being released, police returned to the area for reports of Keelan experiencing a mental health crisis.
Officers spoke with Keelan's mother who said she previously kicked him out of the home after being caught undressed with her two younger daughters.
Since then, the mother said Keelan had been living on the street in a tent.
Investigators are working to determine whether Keelan has targeted other kids in the past.
Anyone with information can call 410-887-2361.
For now, Keelan is being held without bail.
